It’s a great year to be in the market for a stroller or car seat. Our Gear Guy, Jamie Grayson, fills us in on five fantastic new releases.
Baby Jogger Vue. “Baby Jogger has entered the umbrella stroller market, and this first model is a doozy—the Vue has a reversible seat. That’s right—an umbrella stroller where the parent can face the baby. It will also hold a Cybex or Maxi-Cosi infant seat.” (Launching Spring 2014; $199.)
Bumbleride Indie 4. “The Indie 4 is the third entry in the Indie line. This particular Indie has four wheels, great suspension, is very stable, and has a terrific fold. It’s one of the best strollers I saw at ABC Kids Expo, and I cannot wait for it to launch.” (Launching Spring 2014; price TBA)
Peg Perego Primo Viaggio 4-35. “I’d venture to say that this is the most drastic overhaul of an infant seat I’ve ever seen, and it’s stellar. This one has great new installation features, is lighter weight, and provides a nice fit for low birthweight babies.” (Launching April 2014; $279.99)
Cybex AtonQ. “Cybex continues to sweat excellence with the AtonQ (pictured). It has a no-rethread height adjustment in the harness, new side-impact safety features, and is the sexiest car seat I’ve ever seen…if, you know, a car seat can be sexy.” (Launching April 2014; $349.99)
Mountain Buggy Nano.
“The Nano will be the best friend of parents who fly. Why? It’s a four-wheeled stroller that can hold an infant car seat, and it will fold up into a bag to fit in the overhead compartment on the plane. That’s right, baggage handlers. You ain’t wrecking this guy!” (Launching February 2014; $199.99)
