We asked a few of the top design pros to name their favorite of-the-moment looks for snazzy babies’ quarters. Here’s what they picked.

1. The Chevron pattern. “We’re catching it on walls everywhere, in shades ranging from subtle gray to bright orange and yellow,” says Melisa Fluhr, co-founder of Project Nursery. “And if you don’t want to be so bold with paint, incorporate it into baby’s bedding, window treatments, rugs, or lamp shades.” We spotted some new chevron-inspired rugs at Serena & Lily, as well as sheet sets at Dwell Studio.

2. Sheepskin rugs. “They’re super cozy, which is nice for a new mom’s feet,” says Marni Elyse Katz, founder of the design blog Style Carrot. “They add texture to a room, plus sheepskin is generally trendy right now.” They can be affordable, too—like this Ikea version.

3. Maps. “Old maps have great character and the idea of re-using instead of buying new is appealing these days,” says Katz. Old-school U.S. ones like these are especially en vogue for vintage enthusiasts.

4. Washed gray wood. “This seems to be the new ‘warm’ wood for nurseries,” says giggle founder and CEO Ali Wing. We’ve seen some cool variations on the gray theme at Restoration Hardware.

5. Printed wallpaper. “We’re loving wallpaper with an allover print for the nursery,” say the founders of SISSY + MARLEY. Here’s one they think is especially great right now.
