Amy Ryan, Changeling, and the upcoming Jack Goes Boating and Green Zone
“There’s nothing better than family and a big meal during the holidays. I hope to someday pass on my grandmother’s Christmas meal recipes of Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding. Also, I hope to acquire some new ones, as my new family will also celebrate Chanukah this year!”

Sarah Jessica Parker, Did You Hear About the Morgans?
“When I was growing up, we had a naked tree on Christmas Eve, meaning it was unadorned, and then those of us who still believed in Santa Claus—which all my children still do—would go to bed, and when we woke up in the morning, the tree was decorated. We presumed Santa did that in his spare time. And the tubes from the wrapping paper were left under the tree—which were called doot-de-doos—and we were told that’s what Santa left to let us know that he had been there to wrap our presents and decorate our tree. And we believed it. And in my house we still do it every year.”

Kelly Rutherford, Gossip Girl
“Being with family and friends—making Christmas cookies, decorating the tree, Santa Claus. Gratitude for all that we have and the joy of giving.”

Maxine Bahns, The Mentalist and the upcoming What Would Jesus Do, Driving Me Crazy, and Broken
“We do have a new tradition: we are all jumping in the car and looking at the houses all lit up with lights, reindeer, etc. We did it for Halloween, too. There are a few blocks near our home where the neighbors went wild with decorations, music and lights. And of course it will be the first year for personalized stockings (dogs included).”

Catherine McCord, Calvin Klein and Victoria’s Secret model
“We always make a huge homemade dinner on Christmas Eve with turkey, ham, shrimp cocktail, buche de Nöel and more—and on Christmas night we munch on the leftovers. Also, while we’re opening gifts around the Christmas tree, we sit around with a HUGE bowl of nuts and nut crackers and open and eat them.”

Tori Spelling, Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood
“We are starting a tradition. Every year we adopt a family and make sure they have presents under the tree and all the things they need for the holiday. Other than that, our tradition is to gather our friends and family, lock all the doors and do a lot of nothing. Open the presents and graze all day and have a big turkey dinner at the end of the day.”

Shannon Miller, America’s most decorated Olympic gymnast
“Growing up, we weren’t allowed to open gifts until after 8:30 in the morning. Of course, this was agonizing as a child. So “Santa” started leaving little notes for us by our beds—they were basically a scavenger hunt to find the one gift we were allowed to go ahead and open. As new parents, we are starting our own traditions this year: On Christmas Eve, we’ll read The Night Before Christmas, drink hot cocoa, and bake cookies for Santa. On Christmas day we plan to stay in our pajamas all day!”

Bryce Dallas Howard, Ron Howard’s daughter, Victoria in Twilight Saga, and Kate Connor in the upcoming Terminator Salvation
“Every holiday we choose something that we own and we give it away to kind of make room for a new gift to come in. It’s just a very simple, small way of giving back. My son already has a pile of old trucks that he’s prepared to give away. He’s two-and-a-half, so I guess he’s getting rid of the one-year-old version of the truck: he gets the Big Boy version, and he gets to donate the truck he has to a one-year-old.”

Alana Stewart, Farrah’s Story, and the upcoming Delivered.
“I celebrate the holidays by being with my kids and cooking the Christmas dinner that my grandmother always cooked. Also, I try to make a few charitable donations and remember the real spirit of Christmas so I don’t just get caught up in Christmas shopping.”

Keren Craig, Co-designer of Marchesa
“Usually it would be me and my mum, at my mum’s house. But now that we have a child, it’s about making those traditions from scratch in our own house. So I’m really excited about that. The tree, and the stockings. My husband never really did stockings, but it was a big thing for me. I told him that I’d go to church if he does the stockings. We’ll get that balance.”
