Shocker: Fast-Paced Cartoons Mess With Toddler Concentration.

A small study recently published in the journal Pediatrics suggests watching “fast-paced” cartoons may hinder young kids’ self-control and ability to focus. The study concludes that just nine minutes of viewing a frenetic cartoon had immediate effects on 4-year-olds’ executive function, however programming that’s “educational” (e.g., Sesame Street) doesn’t seem to have the same effect.
