Zoning Out

A new babysitting service for private events

It’s not easy to host a rockin’ adult party with kids underfoot. But that doesn’t stop people from trying. To help the cause, babysitting service Lucky Lil’ Darlings has introduced an interesting (if pricey) solution: the LLD Kid Zone. Founder Lindsay Bell will convert a section or separate room at any wedding, dinner party, corporate function, or other grownup event into a kids’ space staffed with vetted sitters and age-appropriate entertainment. Kid Zones can be outfitted with anything from toys to playards, and sitters can orchestrate activities like crafts, jewelry-making, puppet shows, and sing-alongs. Depending on how over-the-top you want to go, décor and goodie bags can round out the distractions while the adult party is going strong.

Lucky Lil’ Darlings recommends one sitter per 3-4 tots, and one sitter per infant; fees start at $500.
