New York Kids Club introduces Spanish for toddlers

The foreign language offerings for babies are oddly lacking in this town, considering the ethnic diversity. So we consider it fairly big news that New York Kids Club has added Cuentos Musica y Arte to its fall lineup. In the 45-minute, Spanish-only class, toddlers in the 18–36 month age bracket will sing, listen to stories, and make art while learning useful basics like numbers, ABC’s, animal names, and weather descriptions. Some tunes are NY Kids Club originals; others are traditional Spanish favorites. To tie it all together, tots make their own vocabulary flash cards each week (with paint, stickers and stamps) that are ultimately compiled into a “My First Spanish Book.”

Classes run September 10th to January 21st; students must be accompanied by a caregiver. Tuition varies by location. Register online at nykidsclub.com.
