Monogramming is standard issue for baby shower gifts, but it's also a chic and easy way to add personal style to kids' wardrobe basics, like babyGap onesies and American Apparel cardigans. Located on the lower level of midtown's Citigroup building, the CAPtions embroidery kiosk will personalize any item you bring in, from sweaters and underwear to pillow cases and, yes, burp cloths. “We can embroider literally anything,” says owner Lisa Smith, who has shown off her work on-site for retailers including Gap and Bloomingdale’s. Choose from 15,000 designs and symbols, and seemingly endless fonts and colors. The only thing better than the price (one dollar per letter, with a $10 minimum) is the turnaround time: whether it's a single initial or a full name, monogramming can be done "as you wait" or scheduled for next-day pickup.
