There’s No Place Like Home
Mommy (or Daddy) & Me classes that come to you
Shuttling babies and toddlers around in this frigid weather sucks. We all have to do it, so there’s no sense in complaining—but we can certainly celebrate the idea of mommy-and-me classes that come to us. ReziClass is a new company that liaisons with established class providers like the Children’s Museum of the Arts and the Language Workshop for Children to host classes in residential buildings and other private play spaces. Founder Maya Autret was pregnant with her twin daughters, when she started taking her son, now 2, to classes. “It was such a pain getting there, especially in the cold weather,” says Autret. So she started organizing them in her own building. Now, the former investment banker has started a business that offers 100 classes in private locations around the city.
The class catalog is available online, but there’s also an opportunity to customize your own private class—at your apartment or in your building’s public space. The prices and minimum number of kids vary with the class providers, but most fall around $30 a class.
