The Latest In Toddler Yoga

Earth Yoga introduces Little Earthlings

It won’t be long before every neighborhood in New York has a kids’ yoga program. (And that’s a good thing.) The latest is Earth Yoga NYC‘s “Little Earthlings” program, serving families in midtown and on the lower UES. The new class for tots ages 2 to 4 is run by instructor Yanti Amos, who leads toddlers on various yoga adventures with themes like “in the garden” or “under the sea.” Breathing techniques, body awareness, strength, and confidence are encouraged through creative cooperative play and songs. In any given class, wee yogis may learn how to lower from a push-up to the tune of the Chaturanga song, explore breathing with the swimming-inspired Goldfish song, or strike a pose to Like A Warrior, I Am Strong. In lieu of semesters, drop-ins are offered at $30 a pop; alternatively you can purchase a 10-class pass ($250), or a 4-month unlimited pass ($600). Little Earthlings is offered Tuesdays and Thursdays at 10:30am; classes for children with special needs are held Mondays and Thursdays at 3:45pm. Caregivers are welcome.
