Toddler yoga has just about hit the mainstream—in New York, anyway. So it makes sense that yoga-themed birthday parties have emerged as the new “it” celebration for 2012. And yes, most of the city’s kids’ yoga programs are now offering birthday packages for children ages 3 and up.
At Yogi Beans’ new UES studio, birthday parties include yoga instruction (simple poses), music, and games. You can also request face painting or mini spa treatments. From $625 to $850 for up to 12 kids with pizza, juice, and paper goods included; $25-$35 per each additional child. Off-site pricing upon request.
A basic Karma Kids yoga party includes up to 90 minutes of pose-infused games ($550). Pint-sized yogis can also pose with their dolls (Downward Doll Party, $650); make crafts (Yoga Art Party, $750); get henna tattoos or hair braiding (Yoga Spa Party, $850); or create wearable butterfly wings (Yoga Butterfly Party, $850). You can choose to host the party at a Karma Kids location, or off-site. Prices are based on 10 guests with pizza and juice; $25-$30 for each additional child.
When you book a yoga party with Elahi Yoga—45 minutes of age-appropriate yoga instruction with workbook and pinwheel favors—the studio gives back to the community with free classes in local parks or at special needs organizations. Off-site parties only; from $450 (food and beverage not included).
