What to snap up from our favorite shops
With warmer days in the mix (finally), it’s time to start stocking up for spring. Here’s what the owners and buyers of New York’s top baby stores had to say about the most popular items coming in for the new season.
The folks at Crewcuts are loving checks for boys ($49.50) and spots for girls ($65). Little Edit‘s Alissa Emerson likes “candy colored dresses with peter pan collars,” like this one from Morley ($112). They also dig “easy tank-style dresses” from Baby Chloe ($88) and frenchie nautical stripes from Leocca ($190). For baby and toddler boys, Yasmin Flores of Little Vida favors “handsome, yet durable” graphic tees like the Stella McCartney Kids Arlo Tee ($55) and Mini Boden Graphic T-shirt ($20). If vintage chic is more your family’s style, Pink Chicken founder Stacey Fraser suggests the Nelly Romper for babies ($65; there’s a smiley print available now and a floral print is expected at the store today). John Lowe of Junior Lowe predicts that lace sneakers by Lobo (pictured, $32) will be a big hit among little boys. And on the fancy front, Cortney Cohen of Best Dressed NY expects to see lots of over-the-top, tutu-inspired dresses—she’s got her eye on a few numbers by Tutu du Monde.
