The people behind Nook Sleep Systems would argue that the crib mattress is the most important aspect of the nursery, yet the one that is generally overlooked. Their new Pebble Mattress ($610) is made of eucalyptus fibers and features an uneven, "pebbled" surface that apparently creates a first-of-its-kind breathable mattress—one that majorly reduces suffocation risks. Of course it's completely non-toxic and organic, and for what it's worth it looks (and feels!) pretty damn cool. Check it out at nooksleep.com.
