Roll This Way
Britain’s coolest strollers hit the States
UK cult brand Mamas & Papas is bringing its sleek line of strollers, carriers, and baby gear to the U.S. this summer. Brand reps brought the goods to New York last week for a preview, and boy did we take note. The item that really caught our eye? The Urbo stroller (pictured, $499). We took it for a test run through the busy, cobbled streets of Soho—heads turned, nannies fussed, moms asked, Where do we get that? The answer: at Babies “R” Us stores, starting August 12.
Also on tap for the U.S. launch: various system and umbrella strollers, plus high chairs, bouncys, and all manner of accessories. Mamas & Papas has been eyeing the US market for some time: “There are only 700,000 births a year in the UK, versus four million in the US,” says owner Amanda Scacchetti. “We wanted to wait until we had the right products—and now we do.”
