Out With The Old
And in with the new
NYC families can unload gently used baby gear through online marketplace Weepea. Created by Brooklyn Heights mom Caroline Peyre Palazzi, you can sell or shop for high-quality cribs, strollers, high chairs, and other outgrown or unwanted stuff. Listings are organized by category and showcase product information and photos, original purchase and sale prices, and a descriptive disclosure of condition (everything’s vetted by the service before going live). Listings are free; buyers pay by credit card and are connected to the seller directly to hash out pick-up (paid delivery to DUMBO, Brooklyn Heights, Carroll Gardens, and other Brooklyn neighborhoods is in the works). There’s a two-day limit for returns and refunds. Sellers can cash out within 48 hours via shopping credit (Weepea takes a 15 percent commission), or by Paypal or check (Weepea takes a 20 percent commission plus 5 percent for credit card processing fees).
