Baby animals at the city zoos
We were sad to hear that Ida, one of the two beloved polar bears at the Central Park Zoo, died this weekend. (Sniff.) She was 25, and had been in New York since she was just 2 years old. But in a Circle of Life kinda way, the city’s zoos have welcomed several babies to their community this spring. So as you make the exhibit rounds this summer, be sure to take a peek at the funny-looking Mongoose pups at the Central Park Zoo, the sweet new lambs at Queens Zoo, and the Bronx Zoo’s baby zebra and month-old Mongolian horse foal, who’s already working on his feeble little gallop. Too darn cute.
