Fairway opens on the UES
New York does many things really well. Supermarkets are not one of them. So we expect nothing short of a celebration dance when Fairway Market opens its East Side location on Wednesday, July 20th.
UES moms (you lucky devils) will find two levels stocked with culinary blessings like organic produce, custom-cut meats, sushi, homemade mozzarella and sausage, and—cue the angel voices—over 600 artisanal cheeses mongered by Steve Jenkins, famed fromagier and author of Cheese Primer. (Don’t even get us started on the 70 types of olives and 100-plus varieties of olive oil.)
Fairway will also be stocking plenty of baby and toddler snacks, including Earth’s Best and Annie’s Homegrown products, Nature’s Path EnviroKidz Cereals, Clif Kids Twisted Fruits, Materne GoGo Squeez Applesauce, Honest Kids fruit drinks, Organic Valley Aseptic milk, and Hampton Farms fresh ground nut butters—not to mention an impressive variety of gluten-free brands.
But the best part may be the Fairway-to-Go Café, offering light bites. Can’t wait to see what that’s all about.
