Let’s Heat Things Up

FreshDirect launches kids’ meals

Big news for moms who don’t cook: FreshDirect has introduced a new line of heat-and-eat kids’ meals (woo-hoo!). The “Kid Power” meals are like the company’s popular 4 Minute Meals, but made with children’s picky palettes in mind.

With a nice departure from the typical chicken fingers and pizzas, the Kid Power meals include somewhat adventurous dishes like falafel & hummus, chicken parm, cheese-stuffed shells, organic turkey sweet-ish meatballs, and veri-teriyaki chicken with whole wheat noodles. All dishes come with a full serving of veggies.

The meals, which cost $4.99 each, are made fresh daily (not frozen) by chefs in the FreshDirect kitchen. Place your order online, the meals are prepared overnight, and delivered to you the next day. FreshDirect does not recommend freezing the meals, saying they taste best when heated up fresh.

You’ll find them under the “Kids Meals & Snack” link in the Heat & Eat section at freshdirect.com. Here’s to hoping they taste as good as they sound.
