Gifts Only A New Yorker Could Understand

Unique finds at the Drawing Room

As New York moms, we're often pressed to find over-the-top baby gifts (for the boss, for the fancy shower, for the editor friend who has everything). To that end, we're intrigued by the uber-luxe fall lineup at the Drawing Room, a trunk show and event space created by UES moms Candice Postel and Emilia Fanjul Pfeifler.

First up, new moms can drop in from 10am to 5pm on September 30 through October 2 to meet with artist Rob Beckett, who will take a snapshot of your little one and transform it into fantastic wall art in mediums like charcoal and oil paints. Prices start at $1,000 for a charcoal drawing. Talented jeweler Devon Woodhill will also be there with her one-of-a-kind diamond lockets (pictured), priced from $2,900. Then, on October 15 and 16 from 10am until 5pm, Spain-based fashion label Los Encajeros will be showcasing its collection of gorgeously handmade European-style dresses for babies and girls—lace, silk, and cotton frocks start at $150. And, from November 18 to 20 from 10am to 6pm, hard-to-find Parisian brand CdeC by Cordelia de Castellane will be accepting pre-orders for Spring 2015; they’ll have select pieces from their Fall 2014 collection, too—like this cardi and leggings set ($100.50).
