Don't Get Caught Without Snow Gear Again

Stock up before the next storm

We know a lot of little ones who were riled up by this week's snow. We also know a lot of moms who were completely unprepared. Here's where to find the best winter essentials around town.
Small Change (1196 Lexington Ave., UES) stocks all the puffers—Il Gufo, ADD, Moncler—and Planet Kids (247 E. 86th St., UES) has London Fog snow pants in small sizes, $24.99. Hit Babesta (66 W. B’way, Tribeca) for 7 A.M. Enfant’s water-repellant baby booties ($42). While Lester's on the UES (1534 Second Ave.) still has a few pairs of toddler-sized Tundra Montanas ($44), most local shops are already sold out of snow boots. You can always order a pair for quick delivery from Zappos, along with Stonz infant/toddler-sized snow mittens ($26.99). Buy Buy Baby (270 Seventh Ave., Chelsea) has sleds like the Toddler Boggen and Winter Stroller from Paricon. It's pretty easy to find a hill in Central Park, or you can try the small hill on 91st Street between Second and Third Avenues. Warm up after with a delish cup of homemade melted milk chocolate at Corner Café and Bakery, right down the street (1659 Third Ave., UES).
