Pin & Needles introduces children’s apparel classes

Our generation of moms isn’t exactly known for its sewing prowess. But one handmade haven on the UES is trying to spark some interest in the lost art. Pins & Needles has just introduced a two-part children’s clothing class: for $190 (plus the cost of materials) you’ll learn how to make seriously cute duds for your baby, toddler, or preschooler. The course features patterns like “The Easy Linen Shirt” for little boys and the “Simple Dress” for baby girls, culled from books like Sewing for Boys and Simple Sewing for Baby. Participants choose their own fabric’s from the shop’s wide range of specialty bolts—Liberty of London, Kokka, Robert Kaufman, Cloud9 Organic Fabrics. Classes are limited to six participants; the next course is scheduled for June 19th and June 26th, from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
