Closet Case

Fall fashion for toddlers

Starting this week, most kids’ stores are receiving daily shipments of back-to-preschool clothes. And even though there’s plenty of summer left, we’re shamelessly focused on grabbing the coolest pieces before they’re sold out. For some inside scoop, we asked the buyers at our favorite shops to give us a heads’ up on the hottest new arrivals for fall.

Vests: The sweetest piece at Lester’s (1534 Second Ave.; 212.734.9292) is a faux shearling vest for girls by Mayoral ($52). At Sweet William (112 North 6th St., Brooklyn; 718.218.6946), Nico Nico’s unisex sherpa vest ($76) will be available in mid-August.

Cozy organics: At Barneys (660 Madison Ave.; 212.826.8900), check out Tane Organics’ cotton sweater and footie sets ($168) with matching skull caps ($38) for boys and girls.

Plaid: Look for Right Bank Babies’ flannel shirt for boys ($48) at 25 Park (1296 Third Ave.; 212.585.2525). At Bonpoint (810 Madison Ave.; 212.879.0900), there’s the Fico shirt ($130) for boys.

Biker chic: You can find Lili Gaufrette’s “Laccolade” girls jacket (pictured, $255) at Little Edit (1368 Lexington Ave.; 212.876.1368).

Graphics: Crewcuts (1190 Madison Ave.; 212.348.9803) has a long-sleeve headphones tee ($24.50) for boys and a long sleeve “3D” shoe pile tee ($38)  for girls.

And if you need to make some room for the new duds, consider donating last year’s it pieces to Goodwill.
