Bellini, Redux

The nursery store gets a makeover

Most New York moms are familiar with Bellini (as in the local line of nursery furniture and décor, not the Italian aperitif). But if you passed by the Second Avenue shop this past week, you might not have recognized it. The three-floor flagship has a whole new look, with some new services to boot. The first floor now showcases Bellini’s private furniture collection, a mix of traditional pieces with modern flair; plus their new custom bedding, made with high-end fabrics from the likes of Schumacher, Studio 4 NYC, and Scalamandre. On the second floor, you’ll find a range of new layette items and gifts from chic labels like Marjorie Ellen and Baby CZ, alongside the Design Studio, which offers full-blown nursery design services run by interior decorator Tina Glazer. (If Bellini’s decorating services are out of your price range, there’s now a budget-friendly “In-Home Design Service” on offer: $150 gets you get a nursery décor consultation with Glazer, at your home, plus an inspiration board with product and layout suggestions. Not bad.) And perhaps the biggest transformation of all is the introduction of furniture and décor from other in-demand brands—Art For Kids, Bungalow 5, Bratt Decor—on the third floor.
