At-Home Infant Safety Lessons

Baby Bodyguards offers a convenient new CPR and choking class

The only thing scarier than a choking infant is not knowing how to help a choking infant. Brooklyn-based Baby Bodyguards has added a private Infant/Child CPR and First Aid Course to their car seat installation and baby-proofing offerings. During the 90-minute, in-home session, an American Heart Association instructor will use Resusci Annie-style mannequins to teach age-appropriate CPR and Heimlich maneuvers, which vary in technique depending on the age of the infant or child. They’ll also do a walk-through of your home to point out any glaring baby-proofing issues (top heavy furniture, low windows)—and even check your car seat to make sure it’s safely installed (9 out of 10 are not). Classes are $300 for four people; $50 per additional person. Sign us up.
