Where To Build A Snowman In LA

Kidspace creates a winter wonderland for tots

We love LA through and through, but this time of year we can’t help but covet crackling fires, hot cocoa, and of course that powdery white stuff. Which is why we practically jumped out of our seats when we heard that Pasadena’s Kidspace would be trucking in ice to grind into 60 tons of real snow during the last week of December. The snowy landscape will be set up in the museum’s outdoor courtyard under two tents, one for toddlers and another for children five and older. Staff will replenish and breakup the snow constantly to ensure that it’s fluffy enough for snowmen and snow angels. Tots are encouraged to wear all the typical snow gear— boots, hats, mittens. The winter fun at the museum also includes interactive shows about the water cycle and how snow is formed, cookie decorating, holiday story readings, a glass harp performance, and even ice fishing. Best of all, there’s no shoveling required.
