Just Breathe

A new class teaches moms how to chill

For most of us, the last deep breath we took was during labor. In an effort to de-stress the LA-mom community, the Pump Station is launching a new class called Calm Mama, Happy Baby. Taught by Sleepy Planet psychotherapist Jennifer Waldburger, LCSW, and meditation guru Ian Hoge, each 90-minute class offers practical ways to reduce stress, manage frustration, and tolerate disappointment and delayed gratification. During each subsequent class, you can troubleshoot with the instructors to identify which techniques worked for you, and which didn’t—honing your chill skills one week at a time.

The first class is on Monday March 5th, at 2pm; classes will be held weekly on Mondays thereafter. $15 per class; babies under 12 months old are welcome to attend with mom.

Waldburger’s book Calm Mama, Happy Baby will be released in spring 2013.
