In A Bubble

A new play space opens in Santa Monica

Considering the disappearances of so many Westside play spaces over the past few years, we’re thinking Santa Monica moms will be thrilled about Bubbles, an indoor play area and kids’ salon that opened last week. Located near the Third Street Promenade, Bubbles offers non-toxic manicures and pedicures for tots, plus facials (that’s right) with organic, edible ingredients like honey, oatmeal and yogurt ($15 manicure and pedicure, $25 facial). The 2,000 square-foot space also houses an indoor jungle gym, a kitchen area, and an arts and crafts room stocked with non-toxic Melissa and Doug paints, glitter and glue. Classes for the three-and-under set include Bubble Jammers music class and Mommy and Me Yoga ($30 per class, or $100 for the month, including one class per week plus unlimited playtime at the gym). Also on the agenda is Mommy’s Night Out on October 10th, when moms can get in on the pampering with complimentary massages and nail treatments while the little ones play.
