Have Fun, Do Good
A new charity event benefits children’s environmental health
There's no shortage of benefits in LA, but here's one we're supporting with a capital S. Co-hosted by local mom Jennifer Stein Simms and Wendy Mindel Rubinstein, a NYC mom and Executive Board Member of the Mount Sinai Children’s Environmental Health Center (CEHC), the first-ever Junior Rock Star Charity Concert & Benefit will fund charities—including the CEHC—that are dedicated to children’s environmental health. Held on July 25th from 4pm to 6:30pm, the event will take place at Music Stars & Masters (Westside Pavilion, 10800 W. Pico Blvd., 3rd Fl.), where there will be, yes, a rock concert for kids—plus plenty of toddler-friendly activities including arts and crafts, dress-up stations, photo-shoots, and a gym class with Coach Dena. Kids will also be treated to an interactive jam session with local musician Willie Aron; magic by David Reichelt of Magic Castle; and an open mike on the Rock Star/Diva Stage, where lights, TV monitors, and a fog machine will affect serious rock star treatment. Further support the cause by purchasing raffle tickets or bidding on silent auction items like a photo shoot with Beautiful Day Photography or cooking classes from Meal and a Spiel. Grab a slice from Fresh Brothers or a salad from Take A Bao before heading out. The kids are pretty much guaranteed to pass out on the way home.
Tickets are $35 per each adult/child pair; additional kids' tickets are $10 each. $45 scores you an adult/child VIP ticket with reserved seating, a spot in the stage performance, a goody bag, and two raffle tickets. Also, the first 25 people to RSVP will get an extra five raffle tickets.
