New stuff at Unique LA's spring show
We've become regulars at the Unique LA shows—trolling for locally made goods by talented, if unknown, designers. So you can bet we'll be there this weekend to check out the spring lineup. For starters, husband-and-wife team Alex and Kaori Walter are launching two sister labels for babies: Tiny Modernism and Belly Sesame. He's an architect, she's an interior designer; they hand-print their modern, minimalist designs on organic cotton onesies and tees right here in the Glendale area. We also plan to hit Sweet Tart Lab. Based in Costa Mesa, the two-year-old company will be debuting a new collection of appliqué designs (pictured) inspired by vintage bicycles, airplanes, and nautical accessories. Order tickets to the show online, or purchase them at the door; $10 (free for kids under 12).
