LA’s top car seat installers

Even if you’ve got the muscles and patience to install a car seat, most moms we know would rather leave it to the professionals—if only for the peace of mind that it’s being done right.

Westside moms rave about Wonderland, a Brentwood kids’ shop that’s been installing car seats for 15 years. They work with an independent company, aptly named CSI (Car Seat Installation), whose services are available at the store on Mondays, Thursdays, and Sundays. Appointments take about 30 minutes, and cost $25 per installation if you’ve purchased the car seat at Wonderland, $35 if you haven’t.  House calls are available, but they need to be booked through CSI directly.

The valley-based mega store Juvenile Shop is the go-to spot for moms living off the 101. They also work with outside companies, but their installers are available six days a week (Monday-Saturday). They have a pretty broad selection of car seats, so we recommend purchasing one there and getting the $25-per-seat charge for installation; if you bring in your own seat, the price jumps to $40. Appointments can be booked by calling the store directly. House calls are available as well.

With eighteen years of experience and more than 50,000 car seats installed, Tiny World claims a “perfect safety record,” meaning that while many of their installations have been in accidents, no children have ever been seriously injured. Tiny World employs their own in-house installers and charges $27 if the seat has been purchased at the store, $40 if it has not. Appointments are available Tuesday-Saturday, and can be made by calling the store.
