We Planned Your Babymoon
Have a last blast right here in Dallas
If you're not planning a romantic getaway before baby's arrival (or even if you are), it's a good idea to treat yourselves for a night or two on the town, staycation style. Here's how to do it right.
Book a room at downtown's newish Omni Dallas Hotel, where you'll find stunning views of the city, plush bedding, and hidden TVs in the bathroom mirrors (fancy). Tack on a spa treatment at the hotel's Mokara spa. The Mama Mio Smoothie sounds just right—it includes a skin exfoliation, prenatal body massage, and scalp massage. Have dinner at the 100 percent vegan and mostly organic Spiral Diner and Bakery in Oak Cliff; we like the sound of the grilled portabello quesadillas and the "Ate" Layer Burrito made with veggie taco meat, Mexican quinoa, and all the fixings. Or, if your cravings skew more comfort food than health fare, head to nearby Pecan Lodge. They're known for their brisket and sausage—and a mean mac and cheese. Walk it off with a stroll through the Bishop Arts District. You can pick up something for your walls at Fete-Ish, a new dog toy at Green Pet, or a finishing touch for the nursery at Cozy Cottage children's boutique. When it's time to give your feet a rest, indulge in a yummy treat from Emporium Pies.
