'Tis The Season, For Family Photos
Where to get great shots of the kids
Leave the matching Santa pajamas at home (please), and head to one of these quintessential Dallas spots—suggested by some of our favorite local photographers—to shoot your holiday card photo.
Leanne Pyle of Tin Owl Photography recommends Lee Park in Uptown for its tall trees, rolling hill, and cityscape vistas. For a more edgy, industrial vibe, Pyle suggests the Deep Ellum area, where you can find street art pretty much everywhere. Sam Anise at Beaux Arts Photography likes to shoot at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden (pictured), since it’s not overly manicured and lends a casual feel. Family photographer Teresa Berg encourages clients to charter a classic McKinney Avenue trolley for a vintage effect. On the modern side, photographer Kate Ward suggests using the giant steel sculptures at Lubben Plaza Park (downtown) for a backdrop. And if your taste runs super-traditional, Tracey McEntyre of Tracey Roman Photography notes that the massive Christmas tree at Galleria Dallas is a nice option. Getting the kids to smile is up to you.
