Klyde Warren Park has lots to offer moms with babies
A park located over a busy Dallas highway sounds as baby-friendly as a spiky rattle. But Klyde Warren Park was created with little ones in mind. Opened just last week and perched above Woodall Rodgers Freeway, bridging uptown and downtown, the 5.2-acre urban space still has some kinks (parking is limited, shady trees are scarce), but overall, the sprawling grassy patch is a wonderful place to blow some steam with your tot. Among its most appealing features for the under-3 set are a mini putting green, lunchtime piano concerts, parent-and-me yoga (every Saturday at 10am), and the dancing water feature, which keeps kids cool and babes entertained for hours. A restaurant is slated to open next summer with seasonal fare, a bar, and a wall of beer. Until then, hit the Relish food truck for light bites. Or, you can always go old-school with a picnic.
