Super Cute Baby Shoes
Homemade booties with a twist
We hold a special place in our hearts for grandmas—especially the kind that sew as beautifully as Marilyn Geren. As proprietor of Soles of Joy (and meemaw to five), the retired schoolteacher makes darling baby shoes from organic cotton and hemp, out of her McKinney home. Sports fans will flip over the team spirit soles, peppered with collegiate logos and mascots (UT, A&M, and Tech, check); hipsters will heart the camo and peace sign styles; and preppies will go for the plaid, gingham, and paisley numbers. Our fave? The solid hemp looks, with coconut shell details. Too stinkin’ cute. And props to Geren’s metal snap closures and coarse laces, which keep the kicks on tiny feet longer than most. Available in sizes zero to six months; $12.50-$14.50 per pair. Order online at etsy.com.
