Introducing Baby Coop
A great thing happened to the Dallas children’s formalwear scene when Courtney Warren Slye welcomed her baby girl last year: the Lake Highlands designer (whose company, Cooper by Courtney, is especially known for bridesmaids’ attire) was inspired to create a line of fancy baby dresses. Hence Baby Coop, a month-old label featuring special occasion dresses (hello, flower girls!) in sizes six months to five years. Cooper’s site—don’t judge its elementary design, she’s a busy new mom, folks—currently offers about a dozen styles; several more are up for grabs on her Facebook page. (Plus, she takes custom orders.) Fabric options for the simple, sleeveless silhouettes include Duponi silk, rayon, lace, and cotton in solid, plaid, floral, and animal prints; complementing sashes tie at the waist. Baby Coop dresses range from $32 to $40; for custom orders, email Courtney directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
