Non-toxic manicure spots for tots

Taking a little one for a manicure ranks high on our list of mother-daughter milestones. But finding a clean, safe, and non-toxic salon is key. Here, a few of our favorite local spots.

Sweet and Sassy has three just-for-girls locations, but we particularly like the Southlake location (1246 Main St., Southlake, 817.251.6353) since they use Zoya polishes—which are toluene-, formaldehyde-, DBP-, and camphor-free. Technicians eschew sharp implements in favor of files, and all services come with adorable nail art; manicures are $14.95, pedicures are $19.95, and combos are $31.95. Hollywood Nails & Spa (6248 Camp Bowie Blvd, Fort Worth, 817.735.8100) treats kids 11 and under to Diva Manicures ($10) and Diva Pedicures ($22) using organic orange ginger oil to soak in before applying vegan polish by SpaRitual. And finally, there’s Spa-Taneity in Fort Worth (618 S. Jennings Ave., 866.338.4880), which performs clean and safe waterless manicures for $20—with non-toxic polishes by Jessica and Zoya.
