Good Times At The Dentist
The best offices for wary wee ones
Moms with toddlers who don't have a total conniption at the dentist office are damn lucky. For the rest of us, the best hope is one of these offices that bend over backwards for tykes.
Dr. J Diane Colter has been practicing nearly nine years at All About Kids (5211 Forest Lane, Suite 127, Far North Dallas, 972.233.4439) and is known for her warm demeanor. Her office is a veritable pop art playground with movies, books, colorful bean bags, and TVs mounted on the ceiling for entertainment during exams.
Dr. Brian Hochstein and Dr. Sylvia King make little ones feel comfortable by using basic language and fun games (like counting teeth) to describe what they’re doing. After practicing together for 17 years at two local offices in East Dallas (2244 S. Buckner Boulevard, Suite B, 214.381.0663) and Murphy (120 East F.M. 544, Suite 78, 972.881.0715), their top tip is to request a morning appointment, when tots are typically more cooperative.
At Highland Park Dental (6725 Hillcrest Avenue, Suite B&C, 214.521.3730), Dr. Erik Harrington is especially beloved for honoring each family’s wishes (i.e., if you aren’t into using fluoride or taking x-rays). He also works patiently with children who have sensory disorders. But the best part? The office is equipped with private waiting rooms for each family, where children can watch TV and play before their exam. #UnheardOf
