Prenatal artwork by Karen Weiss
Most expecting moms treat their baby bumps like prized Picassos. So does Karen Weiss, a local artist who uses prenatal bellies as canvases for stunning body paintings and henna tattoos. Mull over books of artistic designs—boho henna motifs, traditional lilies, a cheeky watermelon—in her cozy North Dallas digs. Then sit back and relax as the mother-of-two free hands an artistic creation in 30 minutes, tops. All of her paints wash off with soap and water, and are pregnancy-safe; the henna stain, which lasts up to three weeks, is homemade with a touch of lavender. A private session costs $40; parties start at $125 for per hour. Nothing you can’t stomach.
