Be A Better Gift Giver

Pick up something unique for baby

Chances are, the new mom in your life already has enough onesies and washcloths. For something a bit more special, look for a gift at one of these less obvious shops.

Print studio We Are 1976 (1902 N. Henderson Ave., Knox) has whimsical toys, books, and paper goods for people of all ages—but their children’s things are downright adorable. We love their eco-friendly Woodland Animals Push Toy Set ($45) and the Brown Bear Hand-Painted Wooden Sculpture ($54). We also like the idea of covering the gift in this cute wrapping paper ($7). Meanwhile, home-accent hotspot Nest (4524 McKinney Ave., Knox) has some of the most sophisticated finds on McKinney, and also a slew of fun children’s stuff. Pick up an Art Nouveau or Salvador Dali coloring book ($8.95 each) for the older sibling, and a fancy stuffed animal from Cate + Levi ($65 each) for the baby. Or, maybe the animal head door lights ($18 each) for checking on sleeping infants. There's also lots to browse at the Kimbell Art Museum (3333 Camp Bowie Blvd., Fort Worth); their plush Paddington Bear ($25) and Artsy Babies Wear Paint board book ($6.99) make for sweet nursery fixtures.
