A Fun Way To Celebrate The Planet

How to do the Earth Day Dallas fest with a baby in tow

This year, Dallas's annual Earth Day fête is being held at Fair Park on April 20 and 21, from 10am to 6pm. It's a long day, to be sure. So we've highlighted the top three attractions for families with little ones. For starters, Yogiños is offering free kids' yoga classes (which incorporate stories, games, music, and art) for all ages at 11am, 12:30pm, and 3pm on both Saturday and Sunday. There's also a Radio Disney "Family Zone," with games, crafts, on-stage performances, and eco-friendly tips geared toward parents and kids. But we've gotta say the best idea may be to stash the kid in a jogging stroller (or on the sidelines with Dad) and get a no-pressure morning workout in the DFW Truck Farm 5K Fun Run on Sunday at 8:30am. Runners (and stroller passengers) can plant seeds, try yoga poses, and collect stickers along the way. Fun Run registration is $40 per person (with discounts available for families and groups); proceeds support DFW Truck Farm's children's gardening education programs.
