Lots Of Help, All In One Place

Learn and mingle at Picnic

At some point, every new mom needs support. Usually, lots of it. Ravenswood’s newest gathering spot for expecting and new parents, Picnic, offers a bunch. It was created by local mother/daughter duo Sue Gottschall and Rebecca Nguyen, certified lactation consultants and childbirth educators who offer various classes taught by experts in their respective fields. Learn tips on relaxation, better sleep habits, and improvements in digestion in a three-week infant massage class; gather meditation techniques in the four-week “Chill Baby” class; or book a chunk of baby/toddler music classes with Stomp and Shout Chicago. There are also a slew of workshops on subjects such as breastfeeding, surviving post-partum, infant CPR, and dealing with separation anxiety. Look for special events like daddy/daughter movie dates and family dance parties. Class prices vary, but start around $35 per person. Register online to book your spot.
