A Play Space With Perks

Kid’s Island offers good times for kids and relaxation for parents

Now that it's too effing cold for the park we could use a great indoor idea. So the timing is perfect for the opening of Kid’s Island, an awesome new indoor play spot in Lincoln Park. The huge space includes a playroom with a fully stocked toy kitchen, LEGO building area, and train station; a giant indoor sandbox (it takes up almost an entire room); and hands-on babysitters who play, read stories, and lead craft projects for the kids. And here’s the real bonus: there’s an on-site café with free WIFI, coffee, and Julius Meinl pastries, and an adjoining Wellness nail spa, where you can have a mani/pedi and watch your kids play on closed circuit TVs. Opt for a daily open play pass ($10 for 2 hours; $2 for each additional hour), or a yearly membership ($120) which includes discounts and unlimited visits. The play space can hold up to 25 kids at a time (6 years and under); babies 6 months and younger get in free.
