You Can't Build A Snowman With Bare Hands

Time to stock up on winter gear

That first blast of snow this week was a reality check: our toddlers need winter essentials. Like, now. Here's where you can find everything you need.
Tiny Hanger (14 Pleasant St., Brookline) has a huge selection of cozy accessories. We're digging the Tuff Kookooshka raccoon fleece hat ($30) and Le Top plush hooded jacket with puppy ears ($40). And though Jacadi (310 Boylston St) ain't cheap, it's hard to find anything cuter than this hat ($42), scarf ($42), and mittens ($35) for boys, or this hat ($39), scarf ($39), and gloves ($32) for girls. To keep their toes toasty, pick up a pair of these adorable Ugg booties for babies and toddlers (from $60) at Lester Harry's (115 Newbury St.).

And before the next storm hits, pick up a pair of waterproof mittens ($15) from Tiny Hanger, order these Tundra boots (49.95), and swing by Polarn O. Pyret (55 Boylston St., Chestnut Hill) for a baby ($199) or toddler ($164) snowsuit. Then grab a tot-sized Stiga flying saucer ($10) from Isis (800 Boylston St.) and head to Jamaica Pond’s Sugar Bowl (Green St., Brookline) for its toddler-friendly hill. Back at home, warm 'em up with with the best-ever hot cocoa from L.A. Burdick (220 Clarendon St., Boston or 52 Brattle St., Cambridge).
