Make Way For Swans
A musical parade in the Public Garden
Here's an indisputable sign that summer is really coming: on May 7, the Public Garden's beloved swan couple, Romeo and Juliet, will return from their winter home at the Franklin Park Zoo to spend the next several months in the lagoon. The 25th Annual Return of the Swans celebration includes a parade led by a brass band; families (with strollers) are encouraged to follow along. Live entertainment kicks off at 11am, and the parade begins at 11:30. Hook up with the group at the Make Way for Ducklings statue near the corner of Beacon and Charles streets. There will be face painting en route to the lagoon, the Four Seasons is providing snacks, and the Boston Park Rangers will read aloud from Make Way for Ducklings. The whole thing will be an awesome display of Boston pride (at a time when we could all use a dose of that).
