It's All About Cute-But-Practical
Our favorite spring shoes for toddlers on the move
Sockless weather is almost here. Woo-hoo! For comfy, durable basics, Tadpole owner Dave Hauck loves See Kai Run—"a great mix of design and function.” The store carries the full line, like this cute Mary Jane sneaker ($38) for girls and closed-toe sandal ($46) for the boys. Over at Mulberry Road, owner Sandy Nelson is stocking Livie & Luca soft-soled shoes, sandals, and sneakers (including these Baby Zebra kicks, $38, pictured right) since “they’re durable and great for running around.” West Newton's Barn Family Shoe Store is the only place near town that carries ultra-durable Pediped shoes. "The quality is superb and the color combinations are nice," says the shop's Dan Falvey. Look for a purple rubber-toed glitter shoe for toddler girls ($39.99) and a navy fisherman's sandal with adjustable straps for toddler boys ($44.99). But if we had to pick a favorite pair, it's probably the Avarcas Frailera sandal in French Blue, which will be available at Hatched mid-March ($50, pictured right). C'est parfait.
