Don’t Cook On Sunday

Spend Mother’s Day at the Arboretum

It's kind of poetic that the Arnold Arboretum's annual lilac festival falls on Mother’s Day this year. The blooms are seriously incredible, but there's plenty for tots to do—card-making, temporary tattoos—besides smelling flowers.

We love the idea of packing a lunch for the whole fam (since it's the only day of the year that you can picnic on the grounds). But if you're boycotting the kitchen in honor of Mother's Day, head for the food trucks instead. Clover Food Lab, Boston’s Baddest Burger, and the Dining Car will all be there, along with Batch Ice Cream and Frozen Hoagies. Yum.

Festivities are from 10am to 3pm; food trucks open at 11am. Events happen throughout the northern half of the Arboretum, so enter at Arborway Gate (125 Arborway). Admission is free.
