Cool Mom Q&A: Bridget Blythe
Television news anchor and brand-new mom
As a morning news anchor at NECN, Bridget Blythe is used to early wakeup calls. But her new alarm clock doesn’t buzz when news breaks (unless the news is a hungry baby). Blythe is a new mom to 2-month-old daughter, Quinn. Here, we chat with her about motherhood and the things she’s looking forward to most.
StrollerTraffic: You’re known for your great style — even at 6am. So we’re sure little Quinn is pretty well dressed. What is she wearing these days?
Bridget Blythe: I’m obsessed with anything leopard print for babies. I think it’s so cute. Also, I can't wait to splurge on a custom letter sweater with a nice big Q on it from Mulberry Road on Newbury St.
ST: What activities are you excited to do with Quinn?
BB: I can’t wait to do the Boston Duck Tours with her. And when she’s a little older, Improv Boston has awesome shows for kids. And, around Halloween, strolling through Salem is a must.
ST: What about dining out? Have you braved that yet with her?
BB: My friends and I love Tavern in the Square. They’re super family-friendly.
ST: And the nursery? What theme did you go with?
BB: Quinn's nursery has an adorable sheep wall decal and a little lambie mobile over the crib. And of course we have a bunch of sheep stuffed animals that were gifted to us, as well as a sleep sheep sounder, which we got at Lester Harry's http://lesterharrys.com/. I also love the new Restoration Hardware Baby & Child store here. If money were no object I’d buy it all.
ST: Us, too. But we've gotta ask: do you miss reporting the news each morning?
BB: I do. I love being a mom, but I also love the news. It’s strange to be at home. I can’t believe I missed getting to cover the Red Sox in the World Series.
