A Seriously Silly Exhibit

Mo Willems gets his own space at the Eric Carle Museum

We plan to be the first in line to see Seriously Silly: A Decade of Art and Whimsy, Mo Willems' new exhibit at the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art, in Amherst. Get there early on opening day (June 22): starting at 10am, the museum will host a series of Mo-themed festivities—story time with Willems’ books, meet-and-greets with Elephant and Piggie, and sketching activities in the art studio. The next day (June 23 at 2pm), the man himself will be signing books. After, hit the museum shop where you can purchase copies of his personal sketchbooks (with early versions of Pigeon) and a full-color catalog of his work. The exhibit runs through February 23. Weekend events are free with museum admission ($9 for adults, $6 for kids).
