Top Five Spring Fashion Trends For Tots

What’s hot right this second in baby fashion

Spring fashion is officially here. For a quick guide to what’s in for tots, we asked Gina Rizzo, co-founder of petitePARADE, Kids Fashion Week, to rattle off the top five trends of the season.

Americana with a hipster twist.
We’re seeing a mash up of Stars n Stripes, traditional patterns and textures: classic plaid button downs layered with lightweight cardi’s and rolled up khaki’s . . . for the extra cool touch add grandpas’ handkerchief around the neck or tucked in a back pocket.
Rizzo’s picks: Harajuku Mini for Target Stars Romper ($20) and Scotch Shunk Star Print Cardigan.

Sequins and sparkle in every-day wear.
Designers are trimming everything from casual cotton designs to swimwear and Oxfords with glam embellishments. No need to wait for the holidays to get fancy.
Rizzo’s picks: Stella Mc Cartney Kids Bell Dress ($79), Lamantine Paria chiffon crystal beaded swim bottom, and Gigi&Zaza Bardot Glitter Oxfords ($89).

Neon anything—and everything.
The biggest spring craze this year is neon. The bolder and brighter, the better.
Rizzo’s picks: Sonia Rykiel Yellow Stripe Infant Romper ($122) and crewcuts Neon Green Striped Cotton Skirt ($32.50).

Layering with vests.
The traditional vest is back again this season, as a great layering piece with a casual jeans-and-tee look, or to add a bit of flair to a classic button down and trousers. Rizzo’s pick: Scotch & Shrunk Gilet Vest.

Fringe, fringe, fringe.
Fringe is everywhere. We’ve seen it hanging from dresses, minis, tees, outerwear—even baby bikinis.
Rizzo’s picks:
Flowers by Zoe Fringe Mini Skirt ($26) and 77Kids’ Beachy Neon Bikini ($24.50).
